The Journey
By day, Matt's a Microsoft SQL Server database developer working remotely from Phoenix, Arizona. By night (and weekends, and honestly whenever possible), he's experimenting with 3D printing and turning wild ideas into tangible objects.
It all started in his early 20s when Matt learned to weld. There was something magical about joining metal, creating something permanent from molten fire. That hands-on creation bug never left him.
Then Matt discovered the Bambu Lab H2S. Game changer. Suddenly, 3D printing wasn't a constant battle with bed adhesion and failed prints. It just... worked. Reliably. Beautifully. With colors that actually looked good. He was so impressed he bought four more—the H2D printers. Because apparently when you find something that works, you don't buy one, you buy five.
The Failed Attempts
2014: Matt tried 3D printing for the first time. Failed. Horribly. The technology just wasn't there yet, and neither was his patience.
2020 (COVID): Tried again during lockdown. Better, but still not quite ready. The prints were decent, but the reliability was frustrating.
